WARNING:
The allure of the Fabulous Florida Keys is famous for turning
tourists into locals! I consider the natural beauty and the
endless charm of the islands to be my "silent partner" in Real
Estate!
There are so many things to see and do while you are in the
Keys! Chances are that no matter how many times you come to
visit, you'll never get to everything on your "to-do" list! Stop
in at the new Visitor Center as you enter Big Pine for local
info and discount coupons. Additionally, you may want to obtain
a copy of The Insiders Guide to The Florida Keys and Key West in
the travel section of your local book store. I've found it to
provide the absolute best information from Key Largo to Key
West!
Getting around The Keys is easy.
We use the Mile Marker system from Key Largo (mm106) and
progress backward to Key West (mm0). Along the way there are is
no lack of fine dining and exciting attractions.
Dining at
Mangrove Mama's (located at mm20) is a local
favorite serving lunch and dinner. In season, I recommend
reservations. The relaxed Key-sie atmosphere compliments the
great food. The large portions make it hard to save room for the
home made Key Lime Pie for dessert!
Whether you prefer snorkeling at
Looe Key, fishing the "flat's", shopping in Key West or doing
nothing at all except enjoying tropical breezes on the beautiful
state park beaches of Bahia Honda or Fort Zachary Taylor, there
is something for everyone, including dog-friendly beaches!
